Playing career

The displayed career snapshots list 3,990 ODI runs and 77 ODI wickets, 2,897 T20I runs and 51 T20I wickets, plus 3,317 Big Bash runs and 47 wickets. These are source-page snapshots accessed 23 October 2026; no separate statistics update date is claimed.

Playing style

ESPNcricinfo describes Maxwell’s reverse sweeps and pulls as difficult to contain, while also crediting his off-spin and fielding. The combination creates a high-leverage all-round option whose attacking method carries risk.

Setbacks and comebacks

Public sources record a late-2019 mental-health break and a badly broken leg in late 2022. This profile records the career interruption and return without adding private medical detail. His 2023 World Cup 201 not out against Afghanistan was the standout public sporting response.

Post-playing work

Maxwell has not retired from cricket as of this research snapshot. ODI retirement is confirmed, T20I retirement is not, and he remains involved in franchise and domestic opportunities; no post-playing career is established.

Public ventures

Cricket Australia reported that Maxwell co-owns the Belfast-based Irish Wolves in the European T20 Premier League. This is an ownership statement, not an endorsement or ambassador claim. No ownership percentage or additional venture is asserted.
