Yamal’s value is not only in highlight-reel dribbling. His profile combines a left-footed starting position on the right, close control in tight spaces, chance creation and the willingness to attack defenders. That mix explains why Barcelona’s own profile lists him across the forward line, while Britannica describes the inverted-winger role and UEFA’s record list shows how quickly his actions have translated to elite competition milestones.

Public background
Lamine Yamal was born in Esplugues de Llobregat, in the Barcelona metropolitan area, on 13 July 2007. His organised football began at CF La Torreta before Barcelona brought him into La Masia in 2014. Public club and reference biographies describe a rapid climb through the academy age groups and a player shaped by close control, passing range and creativity. His “304” celebration is publicly associated with Rocafonda, the area where he grew up; this profile keeps the background at that public sporting and cultural level rather than adding private family or residence detail.
Professional journey
The step from academy prospect to senior football came quickly. Barcelona’s official account says he began training with the first team while still barely into the under-19 pathway. On 29 April 2023 he debuted against Real Betis at 15 years, 9 months and 16 days, becoming the youngest player to represent Barcelona’s first team. Spain followed in September 2023, when he scored on debut against Georgia. By EURO 2024 he was no longer just a promising teenager: he started for the eventual champions and left Germany with a winner’s medal, a tournament young-player award and several age records. Club and international career
Yamal’s senior career has been built at FC Barcelona and with Spain. Barcelona’s profile records 50 appearances and seven goals in 2023/24, 18 goals in 2024/25 and 24 goals in 2025/26. Those are club-profile season figures and are not presented as an all-competition career total. UEFA’s record account covers his Champions League progression, while the 2026/27 competition pages reviewed here provide a separate live snapshot rather than a historical total. For Spain, UEFA records his senior debut, EURO 2024 title and national-team age milestones.
Role and playing style
Yamal is a left-footed forward who usually starts from the right and attacks inward. Britannica describes an inverted winger with close control, trickery, passing range and creativity. Barcelona’s profile adds positional flexibility: he can play as a striker, attacking midfielder or right winger. In practical terms, that means his threat comes from receiving wide, taking on a defender and then choosing between a shot, a final pass or a combination into the box. The description is role-based, not a claim that one position covers every match. Readers can also compare this profile with Lionel Messi.
Public endorsements and business activity
The verified public record reviewed here supports endorsement relationships, not ownership claims. adidas announced a long-term partnership with Yamal on 26 February 2024 and said he would officially endorse Lionel Messi’s Spark Gen10s signature line. American Eagle announced him as Global Brand Ambassador on 20 January 2026, describing a five-year deal beginning in summer 2026 with campaigns and limited-edition collaborations. Within this source scope, no primary-source evidence was found to establish a Yamal-owned company, investment vehicle or foundation role; that is a research boundary, not a claim that no such activity exists.
